I'm thinking about trying something new. The blog thing has become slightly overwhelming for me. With working full time, Joseph gone all the time and the general demands of three kids, a dog, a cat, a home, a church... blogging has obviously taken a back seat.
My new idea is that I'll commit to blogging once a week -- a "Week in Review" of sorts. I'll post about the previous week... a little, or a lot.
We'll see how it goes. I'll probably do this posting on the weekends, so maybe by next Monday the McRae Diaries will be back in action. Just maybe :)

Communal: 1 year old.
Yep, Communal is one. The year flew by... sort of. We had a great time celebrating last night. And though I did not take any pictures of the food or of the crowded party, I did get pictures of the Communal "family".
Right when we got there, we saw Grandma & Grandpa McRae:

The girls would not leave Megan alone all night. Good thing Megan loves us so much.

The boys: Derek, Brenden, Jake & Trever (after gorging themselves on fine food).

The fabulous Joseph McRae (nice purple shirt):

Summer Randomness.
I haven't been blogging much because I haven't really been taking pictures. So, here's a little recap of the past month. It's very random. It's all I've got.
The week of Charlie Green Santos:
"The Virgin Charlie"
Jake had a way with Charlie. We called him "the baby whisperer."
So there you have it. I told you it was random. I'll try to do better in October.

I think I've found my new calling in life...
First, the back story. We own a large cat. We adopted Sampson (aka: Sammy) when he was large and we thought it was cute. Never mind the fact that Joseph thought I was seriously demented for adopting a cat that looked identical to Frisco, our cat that had just died. But that's another story.
Over the past several years Sammy has seemed to grow even larger.
Remember this?
Because of his size, he has a little trouble cleaning a few areas on his body. Namely his back. He can't reach. So his hair has been getting really matted and gross. We called the vet and set up an appt. to have him shaved, but then discovered it would cost $100, so we cancelled the appt.
Then yesterday I just couldn't take it anymore. I told Joseph to grab a towel, wrap Sammy in it, and I'd give him a haircut.
I don't know about you, but I think he looks great!
