A great way to start the summer...

Imagine my surprise. When I got home from picking the kids up from school, I walked into the house and saw this:

Joseph surprised us girls with new beach cruisers!! They are so cute. I haven't ridden a bike in years. I felt kind of wobbly. Emma was experiencing pure joy:

Mom's bike:
Jake already got a new bike for his birthday, so he just struck a cool pose: Provo River Trail, here we come!
Thanks sweetie, what an awesome surprise! We love you!

Got Art?

I heard about this site a few months ago. It's such a great idea. Feed Your Soul is a blog whose main purpose it to make art accessible to everyone. They've invited many fine artists to join in and offer their artwork for free, as downloads. All you need to do is download and print on nice paper or card stock. Then add a frame and there you have it... new artwork! I download everything, so someday if I need a little something, I can look through my file of artwork. Check it out!

Dancing Weekend

What a weekend! Emma has been dancing this year at a studio called Jive with her good friend Annie. Emma danced in FIVE performances at the Covey Center for the Arts this weekend. It was a long haul, but we did it. Their class danced fabulously and the performances went off without a hitch. Excuse the poor video... I was trying to watch and film simultaneously. Not a good combination for me.

The Wedding.

So I missed Suzy & Ryan's big day. I was supposed to be there, helping with everything, and instead, I gave a camera to an 11-year old and instructed him to "show me the wedding."

And though he had no "traditional" wedding photos, I think he did a pretty great job. He told me he wanted me to see all the details.

Jacob did a fabulous job documenting the food. You can tell where this kid's heart is:

Last year I blogged about the pictures I found on my camera that Jacob had taken. I know I'm his mom and I'm totally biased, but I really think Jake has a talent here. He's certainly better than I am. Here are a few he took at the wedding:

One last thing. A HUGE thank-you goes out to Steve & Bets for wrangling the McRae kids for the entire weekend. Literally, I dropped them off on Friday night when I was so sick, and did not see them again until late Sunday night. I don't know what I would have done without you guys. I love you!
